Despite the stunning landscapes, there are also high poverty levels and a lack of educational resources and opportunities for young people. Our aim was to target the struggling poverty and provide the youth with sports coaching, teaching lessons, and positive activities within parks.

Each trip we would take up to 24 young people to provide sessions for the children living within townships. From 2014 to 2020, HYPE has built relationships and a trusting bond within local township communities and schools, which gave us the opportunity to provide the trip of a lifetime to our volunteers.

During 9-days, we worked in three primary schools and one secondary school – delivering a range of fun sessions, activities on Cape Town sandy beaches, as well as planning and providing a Vibrant Park event in Green Point Park.

We want to give a special thanks to all volunteers involved in the project, who were an essential part of the HYPE impact team, assisting our efforts in providing children and youth with better education and a brighter future.
